How to insert a ChronoForm into an article?

GreyHead 23 Oct, 2011
Hi ufoldager ,

If it's just a little text (or a lot of text) you can add it with the Header element in the Wizard.

To insert a form in an article you can use the ChronoForms Plug-in from the downloads area here.

Thanks, Bob.

Downloaded and installed your plugin, and inserted this into my article: {chronoforms}bordbestilling{/chronoforms}.

The name of the form is: bordbestilling.

But apparently, it doesn't work. Link: http://lavista.dk/joomla/index.php/bestil-bord.

Any idea? Does the plugin support 1.7?

Cheers,

GreyHead 23 Oct, 2011
Hi ufoldager,

You have <p> tags around the chronoforms tag. Please remove them.
<p>{chronoforms}bordbestilling{/chronoforms}</p>

Have you also enabled the plug-in?

Bob

I am so ignorant. 😶

Thank you, Bob!

I have the same problem. I removed the <p>tag and save the article then again the <p>tag around there.

What can i do?
GreyHead 05 Oct, 2012
Hi tsguhan,

If you add <div> tags then the editor will leave them and not add the <p> tags.
<div>{chronoforms}form_name{/chronoforms}</div>

Hi tsguhan,

Do you have the ChronoForms plug-in installed and enabled?

Bob
tsguhan 05 Oct, 2012
Hi,

I have installed. It shows under "Components" in admin.

GreyHead 05 Oct, 2012
Hi tsguhan,

I think that would be the ChronoForms Component if it shows under 'Component'. Do you also have the ChronoForms Plug-in installed and enabled?

Bob
tsguhan 05 Oct, 2012
Hi,

Yes you are absolutely correct. At that time, i have only installed components. Now i have installed the Plug-In. It works well. Thank you so much!!!

Hi there,

sorry to bring up old things, but I am having the exact same problem.

I have enabled both, the component where I designed the chronoforms and the plugin (chronoforms)

Description
This plugin must have ChronoForms component in order for it to work. You just need to put the name of the form you want to show between : {chronoforms}&{/chronoforms}, Example: {chronoforms}form1{/chronoforms} where form1 is the form name which will be displayed!!

And I tried to add it two ways and made my name easier (form name ="get")

{chronoforms}get{/chronoforms}

{source}

{chronoforms}get{/chronoforms}

{/source}

The actual url is http://www.zeacom.com/find-a-zeacom-reseller-partner-form

I got it working if I select Chronoform as the main Selection in the menu and linking it to the form I want, but for another form I need to have it in between text as a plug in and it still doesn't like me for some reason :? I tried many variations.

Thank you very much for your time,

Rene
GreyHead 23 Nov, 2012
Hi Rene,

Which version of Joomla! are you using? I've seen an examples of this problem with Joomla! 2.5.8 though the plug-in works perfectly on my test sites here. I don't think that Max has been able to reproduce it either.

You can add text to your form using the Custom Element element in the Preview window; or other users have reported successfully used the Load Position plug-in plus the ChronoForms module to show forms in articles.

The link you posted shows the form correctly but I assume that this is after you switched to the menu link?

Hi Bob,

Thank you very much for the timely reply, I am sorry that it took me a while to get back to you..

The version that I am using is Joomla Version 1.7.2, Chronoform Module V4 RC3.0, Chronoform admin Component 4.0 RC3.5.1, chronoform Plugin V4 RC3.0. and yes I know I can add text but as I need to add it in a middle of Web page, that is not really an option.

You can have a look here: http://www.zeacom.com/products-services/products/multimedia-contact-center

The form needs to be replaced with a chronoform as I'm sending the form information back an external CRM and Chronoform is the most friendly and most straight forward one for that, that I came across.

Are there any other plugin or ways I could implement it? Or is there may be something that I am missing?

Thank you for your precious time again!

So I just found out that I have a preview button in my code editor myself, and it actually produces the form I want (see attachment below). However, once I get to the actual page it only shows the line of code and no signs of the form..

It is quite strange as the article obviously picks up on the fact that it is a call to the plugin and converts it fine.

Any ideas??

Thanks,

Rene

I have activated all parts of chronoform, the Plugin, the Component itself and the Module as mentioned above, must be something that I am missing though
GreyHead 28 Nov, 2012
Hi Rene,

Please try removing the <p> tags and replacing them with <div> as IE will not allow forms in <p> tags - though it should still display.

By all means email or PM me the site URL and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Hi Rene,

It's working OK now. I suspect that you had the Joomla! 1.5 version of the ChronoForms plug-in installed. I removed it and re-installed the Joomla! 1.6-2.5 version.

Hi Bob,

Oh wow, how did I not see that... Thank you so much!

You are a life saver!

Hi Rene,

It's not obvious, there is nothing to tell you exactly which version you have installed :-(

Is there a way to do this with the new version for Joomla 3.0.x?
I tried installing the plugin and module for the joomla 2.5 but they caused my site to error out so I had to remove them.
GreyHead 18 Dec, 2012
Hi WapTug,

Not yet, I expect that Max will release a plug-in and module for Joomla! v3.0 in the next week or two.

Thank you Bob. By the way, forms look good on my tablet and smartphone using Joomla 3.0. Love the new responsive templates.

I am trying to insert form inside an aricle.
I am running my joomla on 2.5.11.
Chronoform component is instaler and working. Plugin is instaled and enabled, and a custom form too.
The link with an article is http://www.simptomi.rs/index.php/bolesti/2427-narudzbenica
As you can see, the p tag is removed and replaced witd div tag, and still not working.
Also validation in the form is not working. I dont know what seems to be the problem.
Thanks for any kind af advice.
GreyHead 19 Jun, 2013
Hi draganstojicevic,

Please double-check that the ChronoForms plug-in is installed and enabled.

Is this a normal article? If so it should work OK.

There are some JavaScript errors on the page, in part because the MooTools library is not being loaded.

There is what looks to be an *optimizer* plug-in running but the URL shows 'file not found' in the page source. Please disable this and see if the validation is then OK.

Bob
draganstojicevic 19 Jun, 2013
I`ve double checked, and chronoform plugin is instaled and enabled.
The article above is real, but blank, because I am trying to fix these issues, and then do the rest.
Regarding validation, I have disabled plugin for site optimisation, but still nothing.
It still can send blank emails.

Hi draganstojicevic ,

Hi draganstojicevic,

I've taken a look at the site and everything looks correct. I can't see why the plugin isn't working.

It may be worth trying general purpose plugin like Content Anywhere??

Hi I am having exactly the same problem, the form works in preview but when I try and insert into an article, only the code is showing.
{chronoform}Event{/chronoform}

joomla version 2.5.11
Chronoforms_V4_RC3.5.2_J1.6
GreyHead 21 Jun, 2013
Hi shaffrey,

I think that should be {chronoforms} with an s on the end.

No sign of any email or PM from you since you sent me the login.

Bob
GreyHead 26 Jun, 2013
Hi shaffrey,

Not much to see, there are <p> tags around the code which will break the form in IE but otherwise it looks OK.

My best bet is still that there is something wrong with the plug-in version or its settings.

Bob

PS 'Uk' should be 'UK'
shaffrey 28 Jun, 2013
It is done, I think I had the wrong plugin installed!!
It still didn't work after that but I remade the form again and it worked straight away!!

And your right the 'k' should have beed 'K'- thanks for noticing.
Cheers.
Eakins 04 Sep, 2013
Hello,

new to chronoforms, so I still getting my feet wet. I have installed Chronoforms V4, using Joomla 2.5.11. I have installed, created, and db tested my first form successfully. However, when I put in the <div>{chronoforms}FormName{/chronoforms}</div>, the item doesn't show.

I have read about enabling the component and plug-in. I don't see a plug-in for chronoforms in my plug-ins manager. Does the plug in install with the Chronoforms_V$_stable_J2.5, or do I have to install it sperately? Thanks!
GreyHead 05 Sep, 2013
Hi Eakins,

You need to install the ChronoForms plug-in. Please see this FAQ

Hi all!
Unfortunately I'm having the same problem😟
Installed the plugin, Joomla 3.x and latest chronoforms.
The form doesn't show up... Here is the link to the preview:
http://deleted
I see only
{‍chronoforms}Obratnaja_sviaz{/chronoforms}

Any thoughts?
Thank you!
GreyHead 18 Sep, 2013
Hi 01,

Everything looks OK from the front-end.

Most of the causes of problems with the Plug-in are in this FAQ but there is one occasional bug with Joomla! 3 that I haven't seen a solution for. In both cases I have seen creating a new article seems to work OK and in one case the previous article then worked as well.

Hi, GreyHead!
I've retyped the tags by hand and everything started to work... Very strange... I don't have ideas why is was so... Maybe of Unicode or charset...
GreyHead 18 Sep, 2013
Hi 01,

It's very mysterious - as you say it must be something to do with character-sets or spacing or the way the Article rich text editor saves the code :-(

Good to hear that you got it working OK.

Bob
