email domains with numbers

Hi, I love chronoforms they work very well. I'm using V4 RC1.8.

I have however a problem. The website http://www.biggerdiamonds4less.co.uk. In the forms I ask for the enquiry email to be sent to info@biggerdiamonds4less.co.uk and also BCC it to a googlemail account. The response goes to the googlemail address but not to info@biggerdiamonds4less.co.uk!

I've racked my brains over this for ages and found that reponses will not go to email addresses with numbers in the domain. I also tested such an address in the enquiry form itself and that too did not send out.

Is there a fix for this? I've checked every parameter and settings and can't solve this. For the time being the form feedback is being sent to the googlemail account but this is not ideal and I fear that we are missing enquiries from anyone using an email address with numbers in it

Any help you can give me would be great. Andreas

PS: I have seen similar posts that suggest SPAM filtering but this does not appear to be the problem in this case

Hi andreas@amanet.co.uk,

There's nothing in the ChronoForms code to cause this as far as I am aware. And I doubt that there is in the Joomla! code either.

How do you know that the number is causing the problem?

Please upgrade to CFv4 RC2.0 as there have been quite a few bug fixes. If you still have the problem drag a debugger action into the On Submit event; then Submit the form and post the debug output here.

Hi, thanks for replying. I'm pretty sure it's numbers in the domain that's causing the problem. I've tested in every way using many different email domains that I run they all work perfectly until I get to using the domains with numbers in i.e laptops4schools.co.uk and biggerdiamonds4less.co.uk.

If Iupgrade Chrono forms can i be assured it won't upset anything like the forms I've setup etc?

I'd appreciate any help you can offer with this.

Hi,

I have a bit more to add to this. I've just tested my other joomla sites that use various other forms including the contact form with joomla. The email addresses with number do work ok with these which I suppose rules out the host and the installation (all sites areon the same one). However I've now tested info@laptops4schools.co.uk on the biggerdiamonds4less.co.uk contact form and today it DOES work. It seems the only address that does not work is info@biggerdiamonds4less.co.uk even though I know it is a valid mailbox and it works.

Any ideas?

Hi andreas@amanet.co.uk,

Please make sure that the From Email address is not the same as the To Email address. If they are the same this can cause emails to be dropped.

The debug code shows that ChronoForms has passed the email to Joomla! and has got a 'OK' message back.

Hi,

Thanks for your help. I have managed to sort it by changing the email from PHPMail to SMTP on the joomla configuration!

So I take it back! it may not be a problem with numbers in the domain, but certainly a problem in PHPmail sending mail to the same domain? I don't really know who to speak to or how to sort this out but SMTP mail does seem to work. Thanks for your help

Hi andreas@amanet.co.uk ,

I don't think that the problem is sending to the same *domain* but to the same *address*. If you have, for example no-reply@my_domain.com in the From address and admin@my_domain.com in the To address that will work OK.

Hi,

I tested in many diferent ways including different From and To addresses. The only way the form will send to info@biggerdiamonds4less.co.uk is if I have the joomla configuration mailer set SMTP and not PHPMail.
