CF4 - reCaptcha How to?

jhdesign 14 Oct, 2011
I added the actions in advanced mode but cannot see how to add the actual HTML element?

The Captcha element is the core Captcha, I do not see how to add the reCaptcha element to form display.

i did all the above but i always get into an endless loop with the message

The reCAPTCHA wasn't entered correctly. Please try it again.

- whether the recaptcha entered is correct or incorrect.

all i try to do is send an email and redirect after the recaptcha is entered correctly. i tried putting this in OnSuccess and after the CheckReCaptcha action, but to no avail. any idea what i'm doing wrong?

Hi pollito,

Please check the video carefully. My best guess is that you have the Check Captcha in the On Load event instead of the On Submit event.

Hi Bob,

I put the events in as described. This time I even followed the video 1:1, using the exact same fields. no matter what i type, the recaptcha rejects it!

I used the private & public key for my domain too, but to no avail.
Not that the site is running on /jupgrade/, as i'm still testing for a migration, but that shouldn't have any effect, right?
Am I really the only one having this problem?

Hi pollito,

Please take a Form Backup using the icon in the Forms Manager and post it here (as a zipped file) or PM or email it to me and I'll take a closer look.

Hi Madc,

You are probably using the Easy Wizard, and the videos show the Advanced Wizard. The Easy Wizard is helpful to make simple forms but it does add in more actions that you probably need and doesn't give you as much control. You can switch from Easy to Advanced just by clicking the link (don't go back again though as you may lose form content).

Bob

PS There is very little difference between CFv4 on Joomla! 1.5 and on Joomla! 1.6/1.7 apart from the template changes.
