Multiple repetative emails generated

andrew.croce@vius.co 07 Oct, 2011
Hello,
I am using Chronoforms 4.0 in my Joomla 1.7 site. This is a custom code form, with the following code:
https://gist.github.com/1270819.
However, I am having the same issue with another form on the site, and also on a non-custom form in another Joomla 1.6 or 1.7 site.

The only events specified are Show HTML On Load, and On Submit I send 2 emails, then show a Thanks Message.

When the form is submitted everything seems to work fine, except it sends a duplicate copy of the same email. It is sent from the same IP within a few milliseconds. Occasionally (and this one confuses me even more) it also sends 2 copies of the email WITHOUT the submitted data, but just the tags, ie {name} instead of "Joe Shmoe".

I have seen a thread with a similar issue, http://www.chronoengine.com/forums.html?cont=posts&f=2&t=24473&p=105743&hilit=multiple+emails#p105743, and it appeared it was due to captcha and not having a loop in the right place, but I am not using captcha here.

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for you assistance.

Hi Andrew,

I don't see anything odd in the Form code - I was wondering if perhaps the script lead to a double submission but I don't think so.

Please take a Form Backup using the icon in the Forms Manager and post it here (as a zipped file) or PM or email it to me and I'll take a closer look.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for looking into this. I have attached the zipped backup file generated by Chronoforms.

Some additional information:
It appears this is only occurring on a handful of sites using the JAT3 Blank templating system (http://www.joomlart.com/joomla/t3-framework-and-ja-purity-templates) in combination with Joomla 1.6 and Chronoforms. So this may not strictly be a Chronoforms issue, however any help is still appreciated.

Thanks
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I checked the forms - everything looks OK and I've submitted a few times without getting any repeats :-(
