Saving forms data to a database 1.7 / 4.0

Hi. I am so sorry if this is somewhere else, but I looked and could not find a good link. All I am really wanting to do is to save the form data from the form to a database. Here are the steps I did.

Created the form
Under forms manager, created a table for the form
Under edit in form wizard (easy mode)in "store data" tab I selected DB save
I enabled, selected the table, and clicked apply
I hit save and close.

I then did a trial submit, and went back to the form manager
I ticked the box, selected the table and hit "show data"
Nothing is shown.

Please let me know what I am doing wrong or point to a link or how to. Thanks a ton
