Contact form produces multiple emails!

I've made a contact form with a few different elements, but every time I submit on the live site it sends a properly formatted email (with the correct data that a user has entered) plus another 5 to 9 emails with the field names in brackets (such as {input_select_4}). It's very bizarre! I've triple checked the email action and a dozen other things but it keeps happening!

Anyone had a similar problem? Can anyone suggest a fix.

No captcha in use (afaik) but getting empty emails coming through.

Might that be from spambots with JavaScript disabled? Or users double clicking on submit?
