Help: Can not install ChromoForms v4 component Jooma 1.7

slingshot 28 Sep, 2011
Hi All,

I want to install the ChromoForms v4 component (Chronoforms_J1.6_V4_RC2.0) on joomla 1.7.
I have installed the plugin and the mod but I can not install the component itself.
Not by uploading it through the extension mananger, not by first upload it in an subfolder under tmp and choose that folder.
It runs for a while and after that the extension manager is shown again without any notification.
No fail, no oke. There is no component installed.

Could someone please help me to install the component?

The front end is down now. Error:
Warning: require_once(/.../components/com_chronoforms/chronoforms.html.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /.../plugins/content/chronoforms/chronoforms.php on line 10

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/.../components/com_chronoforms/chronoforms.html.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /.../plugins/content/chronoforms/chronoforms.php on line 10

Hi slingshot,

It sounds as though this file is missing from your installation: components/com_chronoforms/chronoforms.html.php

Please check that it does exist.

Hi Bob,

You mean in the zip file of the component or on the folder structure of the website? I just downloaded it from the download section of the site.
The file is missing on the site because I can not get the component itself being installed.

The problem is:
I have installed the plugin and the mod but I can not install the component itself.
Not by uploading it through the extension mananger, not by first upload it in an subfolder under tmp and choose that folder.
It runs for a while and after that the extension manager is shown again without any notification.
No fail, no oke. There is no component installed.

Thanks for you support.

Hi slingshot,

Sorry, I misunderstood your post.

ChronoForms is installed now, I turned off the FTP settings in the Site Global Configuration. Joomla! tries to use them if it can but sometimes the FTP user doesn't have all the required permissions.
