Form Update / Refresh

rstruber 21 Sep, 2007
I have been using chronoforms to display a registration type form within a static content page in joomla. I've noticed that in order for changes to take place in the front end, I have to

a) make the changes in the chrono component
b) save the static content page through joomla admin panel
c) refresh the front end page.

I am now trying to make an element on my form dynamic, as in a list is updated as I add / remove items from said list. Would there be any way to take out step "b" from above?

If I'm not making my question clear please let me know and thank you for advice / help ahead of time.

It seems that if I don't do step b, then the changes I make either through the chrono admin panels or information I call from a database, will not appear on the front end.

So for example.

If I wanted to disable the reset button on my form:

A) I go to admin panel for chronoforms, edit the form code, make the necessary changes and save. Now I'm back at the "home" screen for chronoforms where it shows me what forms I have created etc etc.

B ) If I go straight to the front end the form that is displayed will be the form before step A. Only when I go to the static content manager, and save the page with the form on it, do the changes I made after step A become visible in the front end.

Does that help?

Post edited by: rstruber, at: 2007/09/21 23:59

Hmmm, do you have cache enabled or so ? you shouldn't need to do that of course, disable any types of caching at your site/browser and then try again please๐Ÿ™‚

Good call, had the cache enabled in the joomla options, seems to have done the trick. I think its sped up the site in general as well. (But that could be because not many people are sucking up my internet connection at the moment.)

Thanks for the help.๐Ÿ™‚
