Error on strat Chronoforms

NickOg 31 Aug, 2011
Hi

I have a brand new Joomla 1.7 installation on which I have only installed Akeeba backup, Akeeba admin Tools and the ChronoForms_J1.6_Files. The installation seemed to go fine but as soon as I pick ChronoForms from the admin Components menu I get this message
Fatal error: Call to a member function getUserStateFromRequest() on a non-object in /hsphere/local/home/nesolu/banyanview.nesolutions.net.au/administrator/components/com_chronoforms/admin.chronoforms.php on line 162

If I run Validate Installation I get a message
500 - An error has occurred.

JDatabaseMySQL::query: 1146 - Table 'nesolu_banyanview.BVu_components' doesn't exist SQL=SELECT * FROM `BVu_components` WHERE `option` = 'com_chronoforms' AND parent='0' AND admin_menu_link='option=com_chronoforms'

which is odd as I can't see a components table in the database.

Very puzzled! What have I done wrong?

Help!

Regards

Nick

Hi NickOg,

My best guess is that you've installed the Joomla! 1.5 version of ChronoForms v4 RC2.0 instead of the Joomla! 1.6 version - that would explain the error message. But I'm surprised that the installation ran in that case ???

Hi Bob,

That is what I thought and I have just had another look and the file is 'Chronoforms_J1.5_V4_RC2.0.zip' so how the hell did I do that! I have the right one now. I am not thick - honest! 😶

Thanks for the fast reply and sorry to waste your time. :mrgreen:

Yes, that was it. That 1.5 did install OK which I will use as my excuse for not spotting it. I ran an uninstall/reinstall and all looks good and just what I need.
