PayPal redirect doubles amount

Brown 01 Aug, 2011
I wonder if someone can help me please.

I am using Chronoforms_J1.5_V4_RC1.9 and I want to use a form to email me contact details from the form and send the user to PayPal to pay a fee.

There are two hidden fields (amount and item) to be submitted to PayPal using the PayPal redirect.

I have the email side of it configured and working as it should but the amount submitted to PayPal is always twice the amount in the hidden field default value.

Can anyone explain why this is happening? I'm sure I'm missing something very simple but cannot figure out what it can be.

Hi Dave,

I believe that all of Max's payment actions included in the distribution are development versions that randomise the amounts. You can buy 'live' versions from him that don't do this.

On the other hand, unless you need PayPal IPN you can probably achieve the same result with the standard ReDirect URL and ReDirect User actions.

Thanks for the reply Bob

I had just logged with the intention of moving this post to the V4 forum which I have just noticed so it was a surprise to see your reply.

It would have been good to know about the distibuted actions being development versions, would have saved a lot of time but hey...this is such a great component that it will be worth it in the long run.

I'll try the standard ReDirect URL and ReDirect User actions as you suggest and again many thanks.

Hi Dave,

The ChronoForms v4 forums is less important now than it was when the release was very new - most of the current posts seem to be v4 related in all the ChronoForms forums.

I agree that need to pay should be flagged more clearly, at the very least it should be obvious when you configure the action. I don't think Max deliberately left that out - more likely that it was an oversight in all the work to get the new version released.
