CAPTCHA not validating in specific circumstances

torinfo 17 Jul, 2011
L.S.,

I've got a problem with CAPTCHA never validating in my customized template. It's most likely NOT a chronoform problem, but any pointers on where to look, to fix this is highly appreciated.

Joomla 1.5.23 (Dutch language pack)
Chronoforms V3.2

Whenever I use my customized template, the CAPTCHA does not validate in IE8.

It does validate in:
1. FF3
2. In IE8, when I ENABLE script debugging, i.e. toggle off the Disable debug scripts options of IE8
3. In the original template

Any idea how I can fix this? As far as I can tell, there are no javascript errors.

Thanks!

Tom

Hi Tom

The ChronoForms Captcha doesn't use JavaScript - at least I don't think it does. It's a serverside check.

Please post a link to the form so I can take a quick look.

Hi Tom,

It appears to be OK from here. Checked in FF5 and IE9 using IE8 and IE7 browser modes. The only problem I see are some styling problems with the error messages.

Thank you for your effert!

It really is a strange problem... At the moment I can only reproduce on the two development machines which happen to be Windows 7 computers. One 64 bit (using 32bit IE8) and one 32bit. All other PC's, OS's, browsers seem to work fine.....

Will investigate further.

Hi torinfo,

I'm on Windows 7 64 bit - but using IE9 32 bit to test.
