Upgrade a user in Chronoforms/joomla

chronolover 14 Jul, 2011
Hello,

we are using Chronoforms (newest) and joomla 1.6.4. We have two kinds of user that will do a registration. The first kind of user will enter his personal data and get a form to enter some details to get a free entry in our database.

The other kind of user is a "premium"-user, he also enter his personal data. He gets another form (with much more details) and different links in menu as the "free"-user.

Both users get on registration thier "rightslevel". Depending on this level, they get the menulinks.

Is it possible to add a function that the "free"-user could upgrade to a "premium"-user? We just want to keep the account (save work for user) and let the user do more (upgrade to premium) by clicking on one link? Like "to upgrade to premium-user and fill out our "much more details"-Form, click here".

Two accounts with different emails, is not what we want. Means to register two times.

Who could help with a hint?

Hi chronolover ,

You must be able to do this with the new User Groups functionality in Joomla! 1.6 . . . but I don't yet know anything much about it. I think you'd just create two new user groups, assign the members to one or the other and check their group to give access permissions.
