V4 questions - data view headers and lost form settings

Huski 04 Jul, 2011
Have installed V4 on a test version of my website and so far seems good but am having a few issues.

1. Form is saved and most of the time I use the advanced mode when doing the forms but if I click through to edit in easy mode and go to the email tab, and click configure as I want to change something - it clears all the settings I have already done in the advanced mode. I have to set up most of the form settings - I lose a majority of it - Not sure if this is a bug - seems to be.

2. In the older version, when I view the table data, instead of just Record 1, I have been able to set it up so I can see the fields I have chosen with the data showing - means I can quick view data and not have to click on the record to view it. I can't seem to find this in Version 4 - I can only get Record 1, Record 2 etc.

3. Recaptcha - I have the recaptcha showing on the form, but on submit it is not checking it - I can't find any info on how to fix this.

4. In the older version I could add in text at the start of a field or text under the submit button (notes to the user basically such as * Required). Can't see anything other than custom field that could be used and even then I am not sure how I could do it here

Sorry for all the questions.

Cheers

Hi Huski,

[list=1]In general I would avoid going from Advanced Wizard back to Easy Wizard it does seem as though there are bugs that will lose data. Hopefully Max will be able to sort these in a future release (the data still seems to be saved in the database but ChronoForms loses track of it.

I think that all of the Easy Wizard options are also available in the Advanced Wizard.

  • Max has said that he'll look at extending the data viewer in a future release.

  • The ReCpatcha should work OK. You need both the Load ReCaptcha action in the OnLoad Event and the Check ReCaptcha action at the beginning of the OnSubmit event.

  • The "Instructions for users" box on each form element is the equivalent of the user notes you added in CFv3.

    Thanks Greyhead

Have Recaptcha showing on the form ok and it is in the Onload event and at the beginning of the onSubmit event but still not checking. Do I need to enable something else?

    Hi Huski,

    No I don't think so.

Please take a Form Backup using the icon in the Forms Manager and post it here (as a zipped file) or PM or email it to me and I'll take a closer look.
