How to change a date format [CFv4 1.9 on Joomla 1.6]

d-force 25 Jun, 2011
Hi to everybody!

I have tried to change the date format inside the visible field for the user in the form and in the email that I receive after the form is sent.

However it seems not working.

These are the steps I have done on the form wizard:

- add the Custom Datepicker action into the OnLoad section
- I have opened the Custom Datepicker and I have set up the "Field Class" (as Calendario), the Date format shown and Date format posted (as d-m-Y).

The date into the form (after the selection with Date Picker) still continue to be d-m-Y (ex. 2011-06-25).

How can I solve this?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi d-force,

Have you added the Calendario class to the Date-picker element as well?

Hi d-force,

Please take a Form Backup using the icon in the Forms Manager and post it here (as a zipped file) or PM or email it to me and I'll take a closer look.

Hi Filippo,

Two fixes needed:

[list=1]
  • You have to add the datepicker class - calendario - to the Field class box of the elements you want it to apply to.

  • The Custom datepicker action needs to be before the Show HTML action.

Thank you so much Bob! You are so kind!
    Now it works perfectly! 😀

I only have another question concerning the date format.

It's possible to set the "Date format Posted" as follow?

    Ex: Tuesday 5 July 2011 instead of 5-7-2011 ?

    Thanks a lot!!!
