Symbols in Text Boxes

I believe this question has been answered many times but not in a way I understand it. Please note: I think computers are run by magic gerbils so type slowly for me...

I want people to be able to use symbols like the @ or a Dash - when they fill in a text box on my form. I am asking them for their twitter name for example. I am using the wizard edit to edit my form. On the screen shot attached what do I have to check to allow symbols to be used? Alpha/Nums Only does not work obviously.

Is it possible that there is no way to have symbols?

Hi amyc,

The simple way is not to use any validation (except required if the input is actually required).

If you want to allow only alpha-num plus @ and - then you'd need to add a Custom Validation.
