emails not showing up until months later

thal0029 14 Jun, 2011
I have Chrono Contact V 3.2 running on joomla 1.5.23. It appears like is working correctly. But then sporadically, I will get a bunch of emails in my inbox from months ago. I am using gmail to manage my emails@domainname.com. And I am using php mail function for Joomla. Any idea what would cause the emails to be so delayed and then all ambush in? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hi thal0029,

There's no delayed action in ChronoForms (or in Joomla! either). The emails are sent immediately. If there's a delay after thet it's somewhere en route.

I'd suggest switching the site email server to use the GMail SMTP server; that seems pretty relaible.

Thanks Bob!

I did print off the headers. Do you see anything suspicious in the headers?

Thanks Bob! Change ISP's like our website hosting company or our office provider where we check our email? Sorry, to be so dumb!

Hi thal0029,

Whoever manages the mail server for your website which is probably your webhosting company. But the first think to do is to ask them about the delays.

Bob
