I am new to Joomla and ChronoForms with less than a week using them. I was wondering if it was possible and how to do something. Here is what I need to do:
I want a link to download a file. When the user clicks on it a modal form will pop up and request some information. When they submit the data it will be saved in a table and then the link for the file will become active.
I am using Joomla 1.6.1. Is this possible using ChronoForms and how could I do it? If not, do you have any suggestions on how I could do this? Thank you for any help or advice.
Thank you for the quick reply Bob. Currently I'm having a problem with the squeezebox window showing a 404-Component not Found, do you have any suggestions? Also, is there a way to place the link in the article instead of a module like in that example?
Hi Jin,
The 404 Error could be because the ChronoForms links are now option=com_chronoforms (not com_chronocontact).
You can put a link anywhere to call the window I think.

I had already found a thread that pointed out that mistake. Might want to change the example you linked me to, V3 and V4 are the same on it.
I tried your suggestion of placing the link in my article but it loads a new page. I think I read that this used to require mambot.
If I can get this to work right I think I can finally stop bothering you. Thank you for all the help so far. I will definitely need to go post a good review on Joomla now.
Hi Jin,
Pretty much all the docs on my site are for CFv3 so far, I'll update them bit by bit.
To get script or code into an article you will need to use a plug-in/mambot of some kind. I usually use Jumi which is a nice versatile tool - I see they have a Joomla! 1.6 version.

Bob,
Thank you for all the wonderful support you have provided me. I now have everything working the way I need it to. I will definitely use ChronoForms in the future when working with Joomla. The extension is great but the best part is the wonderful customer service you provide for users.
Thank you
Jin
