Help with upgrade

upmm019 08 Jun, 2011
I have version 3.1 RC2.

I understand this is not the latest version.

I want to upgrade but I don't want to redo all of my forms.

How can I easily apply the upgrade without impacting my current forms?

Hi upmm019,

There is no automatic upgrade for that version. You can farily easily upgrade to the latest version of Chronoforms v3. You need to backup all your forms and the related database tables, uninstall ChronoForms; reinstall ChronoForms v3.2; then restore the database tables and use the "UpGrade SQL" link to update the tables.

I suggest that you do this on a test site first, then copy the upgraded forms to the live site.

To upgrade to CFv4 you will need to copy and paste over the Form HTML and other code blocks then reconfigure each form. IMHO it's simpler in the long term to recreate most forms that use the ChronoForms Wizard HTML.

So here is what I did.....

I copied my joomla site using Akeeba.

I restored this copy on my test server.

I uninstalled the ChronoForm component.

I installed V4.

Everything good so far... however......

Using IE8, FF, Safari, and Chrome I cannot add a form. I get JS errors in IE8, nothing happens in FF or Safari.....

Any ideas...???

I am running the latest version of Joomla 1.5 too.... 1.5.23

running on GoDaddy Shared Hosting....

I have no clue what the problem is....

Hi upmm019,

You probably don't have the MooTools Upgrade Plug-in enabled.
