Chronocontact does not work

arjandevries 23 May, 2011
Hi,

I have chrono contact 3.1 RC5.5 installed. I have the plugin enabled.
As in all my other websites.
But it does not work in an article.

I have a form: enable, all yes on the e-mail etc. The form works I tested it.

When I put {chronocontact}mailinglist{/chronocontact} in an article (the forms name is mailinglist) it only gives the text {chronocontact}mailinglist{/chronocontact} and not hte form.

Whats wrong??

Hi Arjan,

Please double-check that the Plug-in is enabled; and that you have the correct version of the plug-in. I'm not sure that the latest version will work with the old version of ChronoForms you are using - if in doubt please check with Max through the Contact Us form.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the reply.
The plugin is enabled. I double checked.
I compared the plugin with other sites where all is working fine.

What I notice in the site where it does not work there is no info behind the plugin.
I mean this: in a working site there is the following info:version, date, author
V3.1 RC5.2 03 May 2009 ChronoEngine.com

In the non working site: no info, blank

When I try to uninstall the plugin I get an error: Plugin Uninstall: Manifest File invalid or not found

When I try to install the plugin (ChronoForms_Plugin_V3.1_RC5.2) I get an error.

I hope you can help.

Hi Arjsn,

It sounds as though the plug-in either hasn't installed correctly or has only partially uninstalled.

You can try re-installing the plug-in. I think that will work but I'm not certain; if not then you will need to do a manual uninstall to clean up.

  • Remove any chronocontact.php or chronocontact.xml files from the site plug-ins/content folder.

  • Look for a row with the name chronocontact in the jos_plugins table and delete that.
