Email and ID

Lagunary 26 Apr, 2011
Hello,

I can't send "cf_id" field in e-mail by Chronoforms. It is very strange, cause I've set up that sending email after writing database, also the thankyou page can show it and this cf_id field has been written to DB.
After modification with ChronoConnectivity cf_id filed has been sent.
The problem is showed when insert form fields into database.

Do you know anything about this? Is it a bug, or I've made some mistake?

Thanks,
Viktor

Hi Viktor,

There are several threads about this in the forums. It may be possible by setting the DB Connection to before email but from memory it's not possible because of the way the work-flow sequence of ChronoForms runs.

My usual recommendation is not ot use the cf-id as a transaction identifier because it isn't particularly secure* but instead to add a short random string identifier that can be set in the OnSubmit Before Email box and then saved to the database table and included in the email.

If you know that cf_id=87 is valid then . . ., 85, 86, 88, 89, . . . are probably valid too.
