I have forms I have created and saved in v3. I can backup the forms in v3 but it seems that the v4 forms are different. I tried to just import a v3 form in to v4 but get an error stating it's not a valid v4 form.

Is there a way of converting forms backed up in v3 to be able to be imported in to v4?

Not at present - and I'm not sure that there will be. You can copy and paste over chunks of form code but the rest of the setup needs to be re-created :-(
