Emailing a record

chucho 29 Mar, 2011
I have finally purchased the link free versions of forms/connectivity the validate code worked great by the way. Question I have a form whre the user types in info about someone maybe an amigo (friend) and it emails the friend and lets them know that your friend submitted info about you the writer can view change the info in connectivity it is filtered by where currently logged in user, I was wondering if there is a way to email a chronoconnectivity record it just has name and date but when you click on edit record it brings up everything in form view I want to generate an email with the viewed or editied form results in it like {name} {date} {text_3} etc... and an html template based on my logo etc... this way the email is not sent out until the writer is happy with the edits and things he wrote then he can choose when to send it by clicking a link or pushing a button and entering an email address.

Sorry for the long explanation,
Julio

Hi Julio,

You can link the ChronoConnetivity to a new ChronoForm that just has a large text area pre-loaded with the input you want. Then you can use the normal email on submit to handle the delivery.

Thanks you this sound s like it may work I'm sorry but I forgot to mention that I need a timed function to schedule the email sending like if some one want to send an email, and have it delivered on valentines day or christmas, bassically any date.

Sory to bother you again,
Julio

Hi Julio,

Hmmm . . . that's kind of an important piece. You can probably do this with a cron job set to run every day (or every few hours).
