I'm very new at this and am viewing different tutorials (pdf and youtube)and they all show the same version. The problem is none of them match my version and I don't even know what version I have or how to find out. the tutorials I'm seeing have step 1 step 2 etc. at the top of the wizard screen, mine doesn't. It also has a heading option that can be dragged, mine does not. Mine has a drag box on the left side and a drop box on the right, while the tutorials drag box is on the right. not to mention the tutorial version has 14 buttons across the top of the form manager while mine only has 6. I just want to use the same version as the tutorial but #1 I can't find that version and #2 if I do find it, I don't know how to uninstall the version I have. So far this is the most complicated thing I've delt with in joomla. Getting desperate and frustrated can anyone help PLEASE???😲
Hi thyming,
You have ChronoForms v4 which is a new Release Candidate that Max created just a few weeks ago. Ther are no full tutorials for it yet. But you will find one PDF and a couple of videos if you go to the ChronoForms v4 forum here and look at the CFv4 Tutorials post.
The tutorials you are looking at are for ChronoForms v3 (some for rather old versions now). This is the current 'stable release' version. You can download this if you prefer.
Note that CF v4 requires the MooTools Upgrade plug-in to be enabled; CF v3 requires it to be disabled.

Thank you so much Bob for the tutorial links now I'm moving 😀 ,but I ran into one problem. On the actions tab when I drag and drop check captcha to the on submit area, the on fail doesn't have any buttons to the right of it. I posted a screenshot of what I'm getting.
Hi thyming ,
The On Success and On Fail boxes are Event boxes. You need to drag an Event Loop Action onto the OnFail box - click the spanner to check the settings but the defaults should be OK - you want it to re-run the OnLoad Event.

Thanks Bob
That worked but I'm still running into road blocks. There is three more things I need to be able to do but can't figure it out. I need a re-enter email address box, a re-enter password box and a confirm check box and text area for a user agreement.
I really appreciate your help.
Thanks again

Hi thyming,
When you open the Wizard (or Wizard Edit) you'll see the Elements (left) and Preview (right) tabs selected. Drag over the Elements you need into the Preview window. Note: for some odd reason you can't drop them into place at the moment they go to the bottom of the window.
You might also want to check the Tutorials thread in the ChronoForms v4 forum here. You'll find a first tutorial document from Max and a couple of helpful videos.

Hey Bob
I got the basic operation of the software (drag and drop etc.) but I don't see anything to drag that gives me any of the things I mentioned in my last post. (re-enter password etc.)The last thing I mentioned about the "i have read the user agreement" check box is very important to my site and i can't seem to find this feature in any other extensions.

Hi thyming,
They aren't there to be dragged in because they aren't basic HTML elements.
To create a confirm check box - use a checkbox and make it reauired.
To create a textarea - use a textarea.
To create the confirmation inputs -- drag in a second text box input; you then need to set confirmation validation i.e this box value = that box value. Max doesn't seem to have this in the default validation yet but I'm fairly certain there's a thread here to adding it.

Hi Bob
If I become to much of a pain in the ass just stop answering me but every time you answer one of my questions, that problem usually gets solved but cause more questions to pop up,I'm sorry but I'm a newbie and i'm kind of used to the components doing most of the work for me.
1,I can't figure out how to enter my terms of use into a text area and make it stick.
2,Where do i set confirmation validation for my "re-enter password"? I don't know html.
I really do appreciate your help. Thanks

Hi thyming,
1) You don't want the terms of use in a textarea - they are not supposed to be user-editable. A custom element is probably best.
2) As far as I recall we don't yet have a password confirmation validation from CFv4. It's possible that Max has posted something but I'm no longer certain - the forums have been very busy for the last week or so.

OK
Thanks Bob I'll keep my eyes open. If you happen to find something, could you let me know via this thread?
