Hello,

I recently moved a working Joomla 1.5 website to a new hosting provider. The file upload form on the site needed to be edited to point to a new Upload Path however the new path says "not writeable" whatever I do. The permissions are set to drwxr-xr-x, for the upload directory and all the way up.

I also tried to change the file extensions field and then got a "GET to /administrator/index2.php not supported" when saving the form.

I have reported both of these to the hosting provider - as far as I can see there is nothing wrong with my form as it worked on its previous server.

Is there anything else I should be trying? Or suggesting to the hoster?

Hi Tim,

Both of these messages are indications that the host may have mod_security enabled and that is blocking the index2.php file. It could also be blocking the folder permissions settings. It's important that the Joomla! user on the server has the appropriate permissions - this may be a different user than the FTP user that you are using to set them. As you'll gather I'm no expert but hopefully this will give you some clues.
