I have just created a form with a file upload option and it works fine as long as you upload a file.
The setting is set to 'Not required", but the form comes up with an error when NO file gets sent with the form.
The error message is just a "1. " with no text behind it.

Is this the latest ChronoForms version 3.2?

If so there's a bug in the File upload code. Please see this post.
