Radio button, not required, returns {radio0} in email

I have a form with a set of radio buttons where the user may choose more than one choice or none if it does not apply to them. The form works, except when you fail to choose any of the choices, then in the email it returns {radio0}. Is there a way for it to show nothing in the email if no option was checked?

I apologize if this has already been answered, I searched the forum and didn't find an answer that fits this same circumstance. I suppose the quick answer would be to add a button that says "Not Applicable". But I will ask anyway and maybe it will help others in future.

Add this snippet to the OnSubmit Before Email box

$radio0 = JRequest::getString('radio0', '', 'post');
JRequest::setVar('radio0', $radio0);
?>

This will set the value of {radio0} to an empty string.
