Hi,
I changed my hosting server and transfered my Joomla web site over. Everything works fine, except for Tooltips created in Chronoforms are no working.

The messages that are supposed to be displayed when you hover over the icon are just displayed as plain text underneath the main text. Nothing happens when you hover over tooltip icon. Mootools upgrade to 1.2 is DISABLED.


Is there something that should be enabled on the server side that the Chronoforms depend on and that is not enabled by default?

I would greatly appreciate some help.

Hi,

This is not server related, it may be some other extension loading JQuery or the new Mootools version or some other script conflicting with it, try to clear your browser and website caches then see if they work.

Thank for your reply Max.
I have not been able to locate the cause of the problem. I have not installed any new plugins before this tooltip stopped working. I only transfered the web site over to another host, keeping everything the same. How is it possible that this is not working if the issue is not on the server side?
Is there a way that I can Analise or troubleshoot this problem to find a cause? Something that will tell me if there is a conflict?

I also want to add that when creating a form in the admin area, the tooltip works, but when you preview the form (within the wizard) tooltip doesn't work.

Did you try to make some fields required (validation), does this work ?

I have a whole lot of fields required, but the validation doesn't work. The form submits without the validation.
What does this mean?

Same issue here...See a previous msg I left to Bob: a complete install on my own server does work ok. Then I ported the install to a friend's hosted environment and tooltips don't display anymore...I thought something went wrong because of my backup and I restarted the install from scratch and still: no tooltips...Not a big issue as the fields are somewhat obvious...Just thought it might be somewhat server-related...

Still no solution.
It seems that the Tooltips and validation are connected as neither work. What do they need enabled on server-side in order to work? Since no settings were changed in Joomla back-end and everything was transfered to another server as is, I can only assume that something on the new server is missing.
What are the validation and tooltips based on?

Hi Goran,

You probably have the MooTools Upgrade Plugin enabled. This is an optional plug-in that enables the MooTools 1.2 library on your site.

ChronoForms (and many other Joomla! extensions) use the MooTools 1.1.2 library that is installed by default. The ChronoForms Wizard, and other back-end code will not run with the plugin enabled.

If you disable the plug-in then ChronoForms should run correctly.

If you need MooTools 1.2 in the front-end of your site then there is a hack for the plug-in posted in the forums here that will enable the 1.2 library in the front-end only. However the ChronoForms validation code and some other features will not work with this version.

There's a fuller "How-to Document" here that includes fixed files that will let the front-end of ChronoForms work with MooTools 1.2.
