Can't Setup E-mails - Some sort of conflict?

alsage13 16 Jan, 2011
I went to update some forms today, and when I go to add e-mails in the form manager, it won't let me! When I try to drag and drop a field from the toolbox, the title just sticks there and no form is created. I don't know any other way to describe it, so I create a screen capture video to explain it better: http://screenjel.ly/E0NQAAyXDIA

I have tried using different browsers (Firefox 3, Firefox 4 beta, IE7, IE8,) and one 2 different computers. I've cleared the website and browser cache. Joomla is up to date, and so is ChronoForms. I tried installing an older version that I had, same problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled ChronoForms from scratch, and again, same problem.

I'm assuming this is some sort of conflict, though I can't figure out how/where/why. If you need an admin login, let me know and I'll PM/email it to you. The site is http://www.gonggongcommunications.com but I doubt you'll be able to see anything from the front end.

Thanks so much!!!

Hi alsage13,

You have the MooTools Upgrade Plugin enabled. This is an optional plug-in that enables the MooTools 1.2 library on your site.

ChronoForms (and many other Joomla! extensions) use the MooTools 1.1.2 library that is installed by default. The ChronoForms Wizard, and other back-end code will not run with the plugin enabled.

If you disable the plug-in then ChronoForms should run correctly.

If you need MooTools 1.2 in the front-end of your site then there is a hack for the plug-in posted in the forums here that will enable the 1.2 library in the front-end only. However the ChronoForms validation code and some other features will not work with this version.

There's a fuller "How-to Document" here that includes fixed files that will let the front-end of ChronoForms work with MooTools 1.2.

As always, Bob, you are a prince among men.

Before trying your hack, I just disabled the mootools update, and while it worked fine in FF, it crashed the site in IE (of course.) So, on to your hack.

It took me two tries to get it to work (my PHP isn't so good and I left out a bracket) but it eventually worked. Thanks SO MUCH!!!
