Hi,
I am new to chronoforms and just testing out the features.
I made my first 'Contact us' form, but when I hit submit, I get a red horizontal bar with a red cross and the number 1 on it. I figure its an error but I can't make out what the problem is. I went through the forum tutorials to double check the mail setting and everything seems fine. But every time I complete the form and hit submit, same error happens.
Here's a screenshot of the error

Here are the global mail settings. I have tested these with the default form used for Joomla registration and they work fine.

Lastly, the email settings from chronoform. The from field uses an email address already registered with the domain.

Any ideas about what the problem could be?

Hi whiteangel,
Sorry, there's a known bug with file upload inputs in the current release that Max hasn't fixed yet. Please see this post for a workaround.

Ok.
I disabled the file upload option and everything works fine now.
However, after I submit the form, I am taken to an empty page. Where do I enter the text that the submitter sees when he clicks on the send button. Something like "Thank you for your feedback".
I know the option of a 'post submission message' is somewhere, but I can't seem to locate it. Could you please point me to it.
Thanks

Hi whiteangel,
The 'Thank You' page is Step 4 in the Wizard or Wizard Edit. Or you can add HTML (+PHP) in the OnSubmit After Email code box on the Form Code tab in the Form Editor.

Wow. This is awful. I've lost over an hour to this bug.
With Recapthcha, there seem to be a lot of variables in play, but I wasn't expecting this one.
I had a form with an upload control, and only 3 others, and since it was most likely suspect, deleted it in the Wizard, the the issue persists for this form. I have checked the Form Code, and it's gone. Validation is turned off, as is Anti-Spam, and no Plugins are loaded.
Any ideas?
I suspect I'll just recreate this one.
Thanks for any input.

Hi kenlyle,
I read your post several times but have no idea what the problem is. It sounds as though you lost some code in the Wizard edit - not sure what the Unknown error message was though?

Thanks, Bob.
The issue is the "known bug with file upload inputs in the current release that Max hasn't fixed yet."
That's the thing with Unknown error messages, nobody will EVER know what they said. Just like the OP, I just got the red X and the number 1 and a period.
I am going to go look at your proposed workaround.
Meanwhile, does v4 import v3 forms? Do the basic features of minimal validation (email), and upload fields work in v4?
Thanks.

Hi kenlyle,
Ah, OK that makes sense. I'm afraid that I rarely have time to go back far into the earlier posts.
V4 does not import V3 forms. There is no automatic upgrade route. Max has said that you can cut and paste over the form code but I haven't tried yet. The functions for validation (using different engine from CFv3) and upload are there, I can't speak for how well they work.
