Hi jpapgr,

You can download the ChronoForms Plug-in/Mambot from the downloads area here. This will let you add a form to an article.

Hi john,

There are some basic tutorials from the Tutorials link above. There's also The ChronoForms Book that has much more information.

It's hard to help you unless you have very clear questions.

Hi john,

You do need to know a little about Joomla! before you start to use ChronoForms with it.

Here's the 'Description' from the ChronoForms Plugin:

This mambot must have ChronoForms component in order for it to work. You just need to put the name of the form you want to show between : {chronocontact}&{/chronocontact}, Example: {chronocontact}form1{/chronocontact} where form1 is the form name which will be displayed!!

I created a form, and added it to an article with the {chronocontact}Form-Name{/chronocontact}. Got nothing but the page with the insertion point showing up {chronocontact}Form-Name{/chronocontact}. Checked to make sure my plugins were installed and active, they are.

So what am I missing?

Is anyone going to even pretend to answer my question? I've been looking for real answers all over this forum and I'm not seeing any.

Hi blairw,

Sorry about the slow reply. I've been away for a week and am still catching up. I missed your post first time around.

Not quite sure what help you expect after your last two posts.

Still, my best guess on the limited info you've posted would be that you don't have the ChronoForms Plug-in/Mambot installed or enabled. Could be something else but that's the root cause of this symptom more than 95% of the time.

My apologies for my brashness.

Checked the install, mambots in and as far as I can tell it is working.

Testing the form produces no hook result to the article. Testing directly produces file size limit error in file upload portion of form. Editing the form resulted in learning that I cannot set a file size limit, it just won't save.

Are you the only person moderating this forum?

Hi blairw,

Max - the developer, fredrik and a few others post but mostly it's me.

By all means email or PM me the site URL and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Hi blairw,

I took a look and found a couple of problems. The / was missing from the plug-in link and the editor had added a scattering of <span> tags which stopped the link parsing. But with these fixed the articles gives a 500 error when it tries to include the form :-(

I think this may come from the site being in a subdomain - there may be a livesite setting in the configuration file that is misdirecting something.

As an alternative I've taken the HTML from the article and added it to a copy of the form - this gives a working page (added to the menu as 'model app 2'). This version appears to be working OK, though the file upload is showing errors*.

* There's a fix for this bug in this post until such time as Max updates the installation package.
