Hi folks,
I have an 'SMTP error Data not accepted' when more than one of the file uploads is used. The 'required' file upload is sent and stored fine. The other 'optional' file uploads give me that error. However, data is stored on the DB. Just not sent to the email. Any thoughts?😢
Best regards,
Bronzesurfer
Hi Bronzesurfer,
Sorry, no idea. It's quite possible to upload and attach several files usually. What kind of files are you attaching?
Bob
Hi Greyhead,
Thanks for the response. They are just image files. It's quite odd that one works but the others won't. Could there be a 'time out' protocol that is causing this error? The debug says that the
file uploads were successful. So, it's conflicting information. Weird anomaly!

Hi Bronzesurfer,
The SMTP message is, I think, from the Joomla! mailer so it's probably going to be something about the size, or type or possible the file name of the attachment that it doesn't like.

Hi GreyHead,
Thanks again for your response. And your right...it turns out that it's the file size to my SMTP.
I never considered that when I made each file upload a max. of 4mb..giving a possible 12mb attachment! And I know that my mail server won't do it. I re-tested with smaller files and it worked fine as I first had set up. Just my customer had too big of files.
Thanks again for your help. Always good to stir the pot when one's narrowly stuck.
Best regards,
Bronzesurfer
