I am trying to set up an online donations form where someone can enter different amounts for any category we give them and then for them to pay for the total of the donation using paypal. I've talked to paypal about this and they said it couldn't be done on their end. Is there a way to do this using chronoforms?

I think that you could do it with ChronoForms by having the form add up the total and send a single value to PayPal. You'd presumably need to store the data for book-keeping purposes.
Alternatively I think you could do it by using PayPal Cart buttons in an ordinary article page. That might be simpler.
