Showing Checkbox Field Name in Email Template

I thought that I could do this in the J1.0 version, but maybe I am just imagining it....

The email template shows the field name when a checkbox is not checked. Is it possible to hide the field name in the email template under this condition?

maybe through a bit of PHP code to check the checkbox posted value
