Following email tutorial. Data will not save to database.

Hello,

Why doesn't the data from the form save to the table? I've been following the tutorial(#5) to create a form and save to a database. I'm using the latest version (ChronoForms_V3.1_RC5.5). The tutorial #5 shows a different interface from the latest version when you edit the table. Since I am new to forms and tables the changes leave me bewildered. I simply do not have enough context to make sense of the interface.

1. There is a connection between the form and the table.
2. It saves all the data except the text fields (name & email)

Any ideas?

Hi Ben,

The new interface is very bad UI design. You have to enable the inputs - click the bars to trun them from red to green so that they will be created as columns in the table. You probably didn't do this.

If there is no important data you can use the ChronoForms Tables manager and either (a) drop the tabel and start over or (b) edit the table to add the missing columns.

I tried as you said and it's not working. It's quite obvious that I do not have the background to understand this. I'm like a chimp mashing on a keyboard right now. Here's what the edit table looks like.

All the above data are saved. I've added a text_1 and text_2 column but that doesn't seem to work either. Any other ideas? Perhaps a setting? In addition and a bit off topic, what should I read up on to gain a little background knowledge to help myself out a bit?

Best Regards,

Hi Ben,

Use the Green + icon at the top left to add text_1 adn text_2 as VarChar columns if you haven't already done so.

Then you need to refresh ChronoForms DB Connection. Go to the DB Connection tab, set the Connection to No, click Apply to save the form, then set the Connection back to Yes and save again.
