drop down list with search

I want to have a drop down list in order to search my table. I've been looking at different code out on the web but still not sure how to go about it. So basically a user will pick from the list of available columns in my database and then type some text in and it will return all rows associated with the search. I just want to modify the search code in the "Where SQl" and "Header" areas. I am currently using the "how to add a search box to CC" example.

Sorry for the trouble, I'm learning this as fast as I can.
