How to add Chronoforms to the top menu

miked 19 Feb, 2010
I've just installed Chronoforms and I generated a form which I want to add to a menu. How do I achieve this? Thanks in advance.

Hi miked,

Add a new menu item of type 'ChronoForms' (or type 'External URL' will work OK too).

Thanks so much for your quick response. I have only been using Joomla for a short with no previous cms experience so I do apologies if my questions appear basic.

I still can't get it work
I had already set up a Menu and the following are the settings:
Link: index.php?option_chroncontact but in the Chronoform manager the Link is :
index.php?option_chroncontact&chronoformname=tefl_course_inquiry
Parent Item: top
Publish:yes
Order: 11 Tefl_course
Access Level: public
Parameters: I didn't change anything here.

Hi miked,

If it's a type ChronoForm then you need to put the form name tefl_course_inquiry in the 'form name' parameter at the top right.

If it's a type External Link then use the full version of the URL.

It works, thank you. Obvious when you know how. Problem now, is after I hit submit I end up with a Joomla page with menus etc, but no form. Where did it go? I think I'll go and get a cold drink. It's over 32 degrees here.

Hi miked,

That's correct. ChronoForms shows an empty page after the form is submitted.

You can add content by putting HTML + PHP into one of the OnSubmit Code boxes (the before box only works if Send Emails is enabled). Or you can redirect the user to some other page by using the ReDirect URL box on the General tab.

I redirected to the form url. Is there a good manual with all this info in. I do appreciate the quick responses that you have given me, but I do like to have a good read(-:
Seeing this is not open source, what happens if you chaps decide to close the doors?

Hopefully the last question for the day is how do you get delivery of the forms sent?
I gone into set up emails. Wasn't sure whether to choose the 'Dynamic' options. Did a save but under Emails it shows Enabled 0
Disabled 2
How to I enable them?

Sorry about the 2 postings. We just had one of many power cuts here( Thailand)
Thought the fist one had been lost.

Hi Miked,

There are some basic tutorials available from the Tutorials link above (and some quite good tooltips in the Form Editor) plus a few thousand posts here.

There is a ChronoForms book too - if I ever get time to finish writing it !

Dynamic email fields take input names and the value of the form input will be substituted in those. The Static ones take plain values.

ChronoForms is GPL so someone else is free to develop the code under the GPL license if Max stops developing it.
