has anybody an idea how to extend the calendar element so that an usable selection of birthdays is possible? i mean it is not really practicable to go back 30 years in the calendar month per month!

Hi gonzo_gonzo,
I moved your post into it's own thread as it really ahd no connection with the other one.
The answer is half-yes, you can add year and month arrows < > that make selection quicker but they aren't very pretty. IIRC someone posted the code to do this in a better way with a different template a week or so ago.
