"Reply To" with the user's email present?

sam18204 27 Dec, 2009
I would like to be able to reply to the person who email me directly. For example, after logging in and reading an email, I would like to be able to click "Reply" (within the email) and directly reply.

Is this possible? If so what selection in the toolbox should I use?

Thanks in advance,
Sam

Hi Sam,

In the Email Setup add the Dynamic ReplyTo Name and Dynamic ReplyTo Email elements and put the names of the inputs from your form in the boxes.

PS You must also have To, Subject FromEmail and FromName elements to create a valid setup.

Thanks again Bob,

Just a quick question - I have added all of the correct forms, but the email reply ended up being "email@MYSERVER.com" and not the second email I place in the reply to form.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thank you

Hi Sam19204,

Please take a screenshot of the Email Setup and post it here.

Hi sam18204,

Only the elements with "Dynamic" in their name can work with input names. The others will use the value entered as a string - so in both these setups the 'From Email' will fail. I'd expect this to cause the email sending to fail but maybe on your site the default site value is being substituted.

Please fix this and see if the ReplyTo value is then correctly substituted.
