insert form into an article

ioannisi 24 Dec, 2009
Hi,

I have installed on my joomla application the chronoforms component version V3.1_RC4.11.
I have created the “contactus” form with the latter version of chronoforms.

I have also installed the chronoforms plugin in order to be able to include my forms within the joomla articles.
I have enabled the latter plugin through the “Plugin Manager”
I have also created one article and I wrote within that article only the following line:
{chronocontact}contactus{/chronocontact}

When I click on the menu item (its type is “Article Layout”) which is associated with the specific article, the following content is being displayed on the browser, Instead of showing the “contactus” form.

However, the form is being displayed without any problems by the “Chronoforms” menu type.

Could you please advice what is going wrong with the steps I followed?

Hi ioannisi,

My guess is that the version of the ChronoForm plugin you have downloaded is not compatible with the slightly old version of the ChronoForms component you have.

You could upgrade the component or ask Max to send you the old version of the plugin through the Contact Us page here.

You might also double-check that the plugin is enabled in the Joomla Plugin manager.

Hi,

I've just upgraded to the newest version of chronoforms but the problem is still persists.
I've also checked the plugin manager of joomla administration page and the specific plugin is enabled.

Could you please suggest me the steps i should follow?

Hi ioannisi,

You seem to have done all the right things.

By all means email or PM me the url and a Superadmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Bob,

I haven't uploaded my web site yet so i do not have any url to give you.
I tried to recreate my form from all over again with a new name "communicate" and i've noticed some changes in the behavior of the application.
Now when i click on the menu item (Article layout) it displays the following message: "There is no form with this name"
The form in the "Form Management" area is being shown as:

The article is being created as follows:

The menu item is being created as follows:

When i click on the menu item the url becomes as follows:
http://localhost/joomla/joomla15/index.php/lklklk
where "lklklk" is the alias of the menu item

However, if i click on the
index.php?option=com_chronocontact&chronoformname=communicate
in the form management area everything is shown properly

please let me know if you need some more information

Hi iaonnisi,

A bit hard to tell but it looks as though you may have extra spaces in the plugin tags {chronocontact} communicate {/chronocontact} instead of {chronocontact}communicate{/chronocontact}

Hi Bob,

Yes you are right
the problem was the spaces between the "communicate"
now is working fine
