ChronoForms book

GreyHead 23 Oct, 2009
Hi all,

This is my 10,000th post in the forums here so it seems a suitable time to say that I'm about to start writing a book on using ChronoForms - with Max's help and support.

More detailed information later.

At the moment I'm looking for a couple of things:

a) Suggestions for questions that the book should answer - I've got most of the obvious ones covered but I'm still interested in ideas for ChronoForms applications.

b) I'm looking for a few people to act as beta testers for the book; they'd need to read a comment on some chapters in draft and to test out the code examples for me. Please e-mail or PM me if you are interested.

The ChronoForms book is now scheduled for publication in August 2010 by Packt Books.

More info and pre-ordering here.

This has distilled much of the critical information from these forums into around 200 pages of 'cookbook recipes' filled with useful hints, working code and example applications.

The ChronoForms Book is now published and available to buy in Printed and/or E-Book versions.
You can get it directly from Packt Publishing on offer at $30.59 for the E-book version.

You can read the ChronoForms Book table of contents on the Packt Publishing site and you can also download a free sample chapter 5 'Form Validation and Security'.

I've also published lots of useful 'extra' material that didn't make it into the final version of the book on my website as 'How-to' docs. Some of these are free, for others - usually the more techical ones - there is a small fee.

Thing of the 'ChronoForms book' as the basic manual and the 'How-to' docs as specialist supplements to check out when you have a sticky problem that is beyond the basic!

PS The book will be available from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk when the listings are updated in the next week or so.
