Can this be done?
I am looking to emulate the ability of many popular "register to view" content sites that require that you keep your registrations up to date, but DO NOT create a login account on their system.
When you link through, they have a form that remembers your data and you merely have to confirm that it is correct to get the content - but you don't have to create a formal account.
I would like to do the same thing - WITHOUT creating Joomla accounts for every visitor.
So can I do this by linking up a Chrono form to it's own database table (lookups for return visits) and a cookie that tells me what record go pull?
Has anyone done this already?
As a side point I am pushing the form data into a stand-alone newsletter mailing system - hence no need for Joomla accounts.
Thanks,
D.
