Problem with Captcha

giorgos147 14 Oct, 2009
Hello!
This is my first post in here, and I want to say that I am Giorgos(George) from Greece.

I have a problem with the Captcha system.
I had the Joomla! site in a subfolder, such as: http://www.Site.com/TheJoomlaSite.
Yesterday, I bought a domain to have my Joomla! site.
I get Joomla! site to the folder of the new domain, and changed the configuration.php file.
The page works fine. But, I have a problem with the ChronoForms.
It shows me the forms, but not the captcha. Basically, it shows me the box to insert the image letters, but it doesn't give me the image. I reinstalled the chronoforms six to seven times, I cleaned the database from it, but it didn't worked.
I checked the box with firefox plugin "FireBug", and in the image, it gives me the address to open it.(I am not inserting this as a link:www. ******.com/components/com_chronocontact/chrono_verification.php?imtype=0)
I open it, and it gives me an error that it says that it can't be viewed because it has some errors.

Do you have any idea? The Captcha worked fine before the transfer from the one domain to the other.

Thank you very much.
I wish you to have a very nice day.

Hi Giorgos,

This is probably a setup problem with your new site. Please check the server logs and talk to your ISP if necessary. Typically it might be a permission problem, or a problem with site security that doesn't recognise png as a valid file type.

I sent an email to my hoster, and 3 minutes later, the captcha worked. I don't know if my hoster fixed it or it have been fixed "alone", but now it is working.

Thank you Bob.

Hi Giorgos,

Please change the Image Validation type to 'With Fonts' - that seems to generate an image OK. Otherwise please check with your ISP, nothing in ChronoForms is changing.
