Potential php 5.3 issue?!!

well guys, what about this.

new install, it is on php 5.3 with joomla patches and stuff. it works. so far..
the issue that I have is with the email template. upon first load. the wysiwyg is there, I leav blank for a default template. go back, the html is there but no wysiwyg?!

anyone seen this before??

also, its wierd, I go into email settings, and it red now,
I set it up, turned it on. it was green. its red. I am not able to change any email settings.
If I add another email, and then go to email templates, I see the wysiwyg for the new email.
Issue is in the form wizard editor as well. Not when you first create the form, when you want to go back and edit the form.. oh man!.

Same with tinymce or JCE.

I am also noticing, that the form validation does not work and that there is a JS error in ie 7. I believe this is due to the tool tip function. Not sure if this is an IE7 and php5.3 related or just ie 7, It appears to be IE7 and not related to php5.3

the form validations though, do fail for php5.3 though. and the 5.2site the tooltip still works. the 5.3 site, the tool tip does not work??!!

I don't think that this has anything much to do with the PHP version, it's just chance that the two sites happen to be using differnet versions.

The Tooltip error is because you have Security Code: (with a colon) as the title which confuses the parser trying to split the title from the body of the tip. (The other site just has Security Code, without the colon.)

I suspect the batch of 'Deprecated' notices reflect different Error Reporting settings between the sites.

Bob There is NO mce editor, no jce editor, NO wysiwyg.

both sites show an error in ie7. I cant remove the colon with the form wizard editor, becuase all that area no longer works!! as is part of the issue with this post. I could go into from code and remove it there. I will do that.

Yes, the colon after the label, taking it out did solve the js error. thanks. what about the other issues.

The error is related to the validation running in IE7. if you click "no, dont continue running scripts on this page" in the script error dialog. everything still runs though.. IE SUCKS!

There's a JavaScript error generated by the 'Easy Search' admin module that you had installed. I've unpublished it and the JavaScript is working again OK.

Well, I'll be darned. that fixed the weird wizard editor and wysiwyg issue, no tooltip though and no validation.

There is no issue on any other server. so its a php5.3 issue with easysearch.

The page load error is some other element on the page. If you view the form in IETester without the template there is no error.

Well my logic says - form + template = error; form + no template = no error then the error is in the template code somewhere, or possibly the interaction of the template with the form.

I could do some testing with the JS.. FYI. I used artisteer to get the bulk of the tamplate done, then modify it.

Artisteer has abit of javascript.. yes, hmmm I will have to dig more into this, unless you already know of issues with artisteer templates??!!

I don't know artisiteer at all. My guess is that the prototype library in the menus is conflicting with the MooTools library that Joomal uses.
