ReCaptcha still not showing in new version

dsmflash 16 Sep, 2009
I'm trying ReCaptcha once again in new version. Inserted {ReCaptcha} into code and all that shows on front end is {ReCaptcha}.

Settings are correct.

Hi dmsflash,

If all that shows in the front end is {ReCaptcha} then some setting, somewhere isn't correct.

I've followed all of the steps, so there must be something required that is not forthright. ????

Hi dsmflash,

I'm sure you are right. it's just that when I follow the steps it mostly works and when you follow them it doesn't.

As I posted somewhere else I can't do support by mind-reading. Telling me that it doesn't work is interesting but unhelpful. There is nothing useful that I can do with that information.

With all due respect, what more can you explain about something that there isn't much info on to begin with.

My site is offline for development. Do you want admin access? I mean there's only a few steps to ReCaptcha, so how much info can yoru really give?

1. obtained public and private key
2. entered public and private key
3. entered {ReCaptcha} into form code and activated plugin.

The simplicity of implementation, according to the steps in Chrono, makes it even easier to determine that there is the possibility that this method does not work and there is more to it.

Just my opinion. I have posted about this before, but this is the new version so i started a new thread. I just prefer ReCaptcha and would like to use it.

Thanks for any help.

Hi dmsflash,

I made a little video here.

Thanks. I even had some popcorn and milk duds while i watched. I nominate you for an Oscar.

Back to seriousness, in the plugins section i interpreted the checkmarks to mean that the plugin was active. In the world of Joomla, and i think you can agree, that a checkmark signifies published, enabled, etc. I did not see anywhere, at least in my search, where you had to undo the check to make the plugin active. just a little confusing.

will test and post back.

Ok, so the vid solved half the problem. created a test form and i can see it.

however, it cannot be added to existing form. cannot add the to the form i created before.

hopefully it will stick.

aside from the input box issue, everything seems to look fine. i posted an easy CSS fix for that a while back.

Thanks again for the vid. Will be looking for it on Blu Ray. 😀

Gray, i do want to say that the new Chrono form rocks. i especially like the little things like the dynamic email fields with the pop up on focus. nice and easy. i think you brought that feature back.

best Joomla form solution out there.

Hi dsmflash,

I agree with you about the red & green interface (for both Plugins and the DB Create) it completely misses its purpose and has been the cause of several threads here. Max has been informed and hopefully it will change in a future release.

There is no reason why it shouldn't work with an existing form; on the display side it is little more than a search and replace.

PS And Google is so impressed with the movie that they've bought ReCaptcha !!

Google has a great eye for entertainment!
