Works everywhere, except one place in Firefox

shangdynasty 07 Jul, 2009
Hi,

We are perplexed. We have successfully been able to set up an auto login, so when our clients or members click register, they are taken to a thank you page and they are logged in, and their login name and a log out button appears. Well, mostly successful. It works great for both of our registrations in Safari, IE 7 and 8, and for one of them in Firefox. The other one in Firefox, logs them in, but gives a login username and password instead of who logged in and a log out button. The only way to know you are logged in is to try to log in and get the error message that you are logged in. Very frustrating as it works everywhere else.

Any information, insight or commentary is greatly appreciated as we are at a stand still with our testing and trying to make this one thing work.

Thanks for any help anyone can give us.

Hi Michael,

I've no idea - can you post a link to the site?

Thanks for taking a look Bob. www.emrcontractor.com

Please allow me to say it again for your convenience here:

Works the way we want with the auto register in Internet Explorer for contractor registration, but not in FireFox (no auto register apparent).

Works the way we want for the provider registration in both IE and Firefox.

Hi shangdynasty,

Both appeared to work Ok for me in FireFox 3.5 (although I correctly got a duplicate username/password error for the second).

I can't think of any reason why the registration process - which is mostly server-side would be affected by the browser :-(

Maybe Max will have some thoughts?

Hi Bob,

What is happening here is that people are getting logged in like the module config is set up to do (autologin) however in Firefox 3.5 for some reason on mac or pc, the person is logged in but the form does not seem to change.

It stays in that log in form instead of saying , HI User..... like it is supposed too.

Then when the user logs in, joomla says, hey you are already logged in.

Not sure if you got that when you tried but, that is mostly the gist of it all.

thanks

Paul
