Error when attempting to validate License

I just purchased the 5 site License, and I attempted to validate though management interface, getting an error :

Fatal error: Call to undefined function ctype_digit() in /var/www/corp/administrator/components/com_chronocontact/admin.chronocontact.php on line 411

Any ideas? I just upgraded to version 3.1 RC5.3

I've never seen that error before. ctype_digit() is a standard PHP function - valid from PHP 4.0.4 on. Please can you check that you have a later PHP version (I'd be surprised if you didn't).

is there a way to get a previous release. That is the only release I see available for download on the website.
