"SMTP Error! Could not connect to SMTP host.

k8Fisher 18 Jun, 2009
Hi, I have a couple of simple forms created using the documentation online. However when I attempt to enable sending of emails I get the "SMTP Error! Could not connect to SMTP host" though the data gets stored on the website without problem. Ive checked the email details, they seem to be correct.

My competition form lives here:
http://www.standoutmagazine.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=9&Itemid=9

Any ideas on what might be helping appreciated. My website is hosted at 1&1.

Hi Kate,

it sounds as though your site is configured to use SMTP for email but either the server name isn't valid or the logon is incorrect.

The setup is in Site Admin | Global Configuration | Server
