Can Chronoforms replace a shopping cart like Virtuemart?

I apologize for being a newbie to Chronoforms and if these questions have been answered elsewhere.

To give some background, I've recently redesigned one of my websites, http://www.mycustomcollage.com, using Joomla and have used Virtuemart as my shopping cart. Virtuemart is great if you're selling products or merchandise, but I'm selling more of a service and am in need of a couple of functions that Virtuemart, or any other shopping cart that I've found, doesn't offer at this time. In particular I need an upload files function. So this leads me to some of my questions.

#1. Is it possible or is there a plug in available to allow users to upload a certain number of files at one time? (This number would be based on a previous entry)
#2. If so is it also possible or is there a plug in available to have the form auto tabulate numbers for a price?
#3. Is there a plug in available for Paypal?
#4. Do all form submissions create separate files on the server or does it simply submit the email for a one time use?

If anyone can answer these questions it will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi rockindaveyb,

1) Yes it's possible, it will either need a multi-step form, or some JavaScript to change the number of inputs visible.

2) Don't understand the question? If you want to calculate a price then the answer is like 1 above, you can either do it with Javascript or with an extra step to your form.

3) Half- it's fairly easy to connect to PayPal, there is a PayPal Plugin but it requires that you are signed up for one of PayPal's more advanced programs. I have a simpler ReDirect Plugin that I'm testing but it's not part of the standard distro.

4) Up to you how you deal with the results. You'll probably want to save them to a database table and ChronoForms supports that.

Because I'm new to this, I'm not sure how to do most of what you're suggesting. Are you, or anyone else, for that matter, able to help me with this or walk me through the process? What I'm actually looking for I don't think is all that difficult. I just don't know enough about this. I can create the basic forms and set up the emails easy enough, and I can work with html a bit. But, my trouble is that I'm not a programmer of any kind. If you are able to assist me, let me know how to contact you so that we may discuss this in more detail.

Thanks again and any help is greatly appreciated,
Dave
