How can I get my form to "reply to" the person who filled it

wawagirl 29 May, 2009
Right now, when the form comes into my email and I hit reply- it just replies to the email that I set up that it comes from. In this case reservations@website.ca. I can add any email address I want in there and I don't think I can leave it blank. Can I add a script so that it will reply to the email from the person who filled out the form? There is an input field for email in the form.

Thanks.

Hi wawagirl,

You can try addng Dynamic ReplyTo Email & From fields in your setup. (Best to leave the From fields as they are).

There are som potentialproblems with this - some ISPs check both the From adn ReplyTo domains (or addresses) to make sure that they match the sending domain. If they don't then your emails may be flagged as potential spam or just unceremoniously dropped.

So, test with care.

The alternative is to add a ReplyTo link in the Email template using mailto:submitter@example.com
