Joomla + phpbb3 + community builder 1.2

Hmmm...

I got myself into a big mess. 😶 Been looking high and low, but no forum is as friendly as chronoengine. This is not a chrono question. But I hope if anyone knows the answer, let me know?

I got a Joomla site with a forum. Visitors should be able to register at the original page. Yet able to continue to access the forum. Both joomla & forum should be connected. Now it is not. (It should works smoothly like Chronoengine forum & its main site).

Second, as I need more info about the member who post stuff, I downloaded & use Community Builder. I added additional field but it is so confusing & not pretty. So if u happen to be a CB guru, I love to hear more from u on how to make these 3 things work = Joomla + phpbb3.0 + CB

Thankyou very much...

Hi Purple Knight,

You need a bridge component to link the forum and PHPBB3, Max uses RokBridge here and it seems to work smoothly though he has posted that there are some problems of users getting out of sync between the two. There are other bridges but I have no experience of them. There was another little thread on this a week or so ago - try a search on rokbridge to find it.

NO idea about using CB on it's own let alone with PHPBB3 as well, sorry.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your reply 😀 Appreciate all the kind support from Chronoengine site. You guys are really very kind.

I tried using Rokbridge before installing CB. Works fine except a bit weird when I try logging in from home page. It just keep getting errors. But if I log in from forum, I can access the entire site with no problem. Posted this question on forum & get weird advertisement messages, I believe.

Thanks for your mentioning about this topic on other threads here. I will give Jfusion a try.
(Maybe CB has to go totally. I will make some compromises about some fields I required users to register).
😀
